RE: [sqr-users] RE: Save as .CSV doesnt work on some PC's

Thanks for your idea, I checked this out. Like you I have 'show file
extensions' on by default.
The file without an extension is smaller than an .spf file but when renamed
as a text file or csv does have some of the data in it. It appears to be an
intermediate file of some sort.
I tested further and the error is easy to duplicate in our shop. Older
computers, celerons, the save as csv works perfect. Same program, report on
a pentium 4 does nothing. I believe, from reading through the forums that
the csv conversion uses the java runtime engine normally installed in c:/JRE
by brio. Something is stopping this from working but what it is I don't
know.
I am trying to use Ray Ontko's csv conversion library as an alternate to the
'easy way'.

Hi,

This is probably a very silly idea, but could the file without the extension
be a .csv file? If the PC is set up to hide certain file extensions, you
would see the file name, but not the extension. Personally, I prefer to
have my PC set up to see all extensions, but I guess some people must like
it the other way. Again, probably too basic an answer, but always eliminate
the most obvious first!

Hi all
I had a nice little program that would use the -PRINTER:EH -EH_CSVONLY
command flag to write a .csv. Works great on a some computers here with
report builder 5.1 and Viewer
6.14 to output a CSV file.
Recently some clients have upgraded to Pentium 4's with the same standard
install but the save as csv or save as HTML from the command line flag, or
from the report viewer doesnt work. No output is produced. An .spf file
and a file without a text extension is produced but nothing else.

The java JRE module appears to be the same on all machines.
All suggestions appreciated.
