Thanks Anderson. I had tried to create the unique index from Access side
and had not realized that it was not saving them.
I create the key on the Oracle table and it worked

When you created the link did you specify the unique key to the table? Its
not required for read only but I don't think it allows update w/o it.

I have an MS Access Database in which I have a linked table which is linked
to a table in Oracle 8 i database
I am unable to go into insert mode, when i open the access database My
access application ca also not insert data into this linked table
What do I need to do to be able to create records in this table or is it a
question of permissions
Please help !!
