It sounds to me like a permissions issue on the Oracle side.

I may be wrong about this, since I don't know much about crappy Micro$haft 
junk like Access, but since the table is linked to Oracle, and you're trying 
to insert into the table, it's trying to carry that insert back to Oracle, 
and the Access user doesn't have permissions to insert (Which is a very good 
thing).

I assume, if you want to insert into that table you'll need to unlink it 
from Oracle.

I have an MS Access Database in which I have a linked table which is linked 
to a table
in Oracle 8 i database

I am unable to go into insert mode, when i open the access database
My access application ca also not insert data into this linked table

What do I need to do to be able to create records in this table or is it a 
question of permissions
