Thanks Peter,
I'll forward that to our admins.

James,
When using "notepad" and "edit" I do not get any sharing violation. Both
let me look at the file but will not allow me to write any updates to it.
When using "write" I get a warning that "the file is in use by another
application and cannot be accessed".
This is action is correct because SQR opens the file in a non-sharing mode
to prevent any other application from writing to it while it has it open.
I am running as a user with Administrator privs on a Windows 2000 platform.
