No, you only need to increase parameter 'VARIABLES' value in a file referenced 
by run option-Mfile.

Here the file i use is SQRPARM.DAT containing these lines:
VARIABLES=1500
PROGLINEPARS=30000
QUERYARGS=1000
QUERIES=500
STRINGSPACE=55000
PROGLINES=6000
SQLSIZE=65000
EXPRESSIONSPACE=65000

An in Brio.Report Builder menu Edit, sub-menu Preferences, i declared for 
parameters:
-Mc:\Progra~1\Brio\ReportFiles\sqrparm.dat (... and other like -NOLIS or -KEEP)

My file is under folder c:\Progra~1\Brio\ReportFiles\ (or c:\Program 
Files\Brio\ReportFiles\),
See it in joined capture ! and look in help for 'SQR Command-Line Flags' !
