[sqr-users] Need help with Dynamic Code(calculation)

Ok..this is my scenerio that has been giving me a headache.  I am in the
vehicle management industry and I need to come up with a calculation.

The first number I need is what is called a residual value.  This can easily
be down by talking a vehicle price * .7  (or 30%).  This represents the
residual value after the first year. 

Now..where I am having the problem, is coming up with the residual value of
a vehicle from any given year through the year 1996.  Residual value is
calculated by 30% of the vehicle price for the first year and 20% for each
year after that.
I need to use the date difference (which is different for every vehicle) and
multiply it by .8 (or 20%) for every year minus one through to 1996 where I
have other calcs to do from 96 on.

Example.....Vehicle #1 was delivered in 1990.  The difference is 6 years
minus one to make it 5.  I need to multiply .8 * the number from the
previous year.
Year 1 * .8 = #number1....#number1 * .8 = #number2....#number2 * .8 =
#number3 etc etc.

This obviously would be easy if each vehicle had the same difference going
to 1996, however, they vary.

Anyone have any experience writing dynamic?
