Re: [sqr-users] upgrade compare reports

If you're on version 8.4 of Tools, here's some information from PeopleSoft
about being able to generate different outputs for compare reports:

In Tools 8.4 and above, users can now generate the Compare Reports in HTML,
tab-delimited text, or comma delimited text (CSV) formats, in addition to
the current proprietary PRT format. After the reports are generated in the
alternate formats, users can then distribute the reports as necessary,
import the reports into Excel or Word, and perform their own manipulations
and searching as needed.

To get the alternate file formats created, its simply a matter of setting a
system registry value, and running the Upgrade Compare process as normal.

Using the Registry Editor (regedit.exe), create the following DWORD values
and set to 1 for desired output: UpgHTMLOutput = create HTML output reports
that can be viewed in any browser UpgTextOutput = create tab-delimited text
files that can be viewed in any text editor or imported into Excel
UpgCsvOutput = create comma-delimited text files that can be viewed in any
text editor or imported into Excel under the key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PeopleSoft\PeopleTools\Release8.40\PSIDE

Set the values to 0, or delete the entries to stop generating the alternate
formats. Application Designer does not need to be restarted after
setting/deleting the values. The values are read with each new compare
report process started.

More detailed instructions:
Launch Registry Editor by typing REGEDIT from a command prompt. In the left
hand tree view, navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PeopleSoft\PeopleTools\Release8.40\PSIDE
(substitute "Release9.0" if using Tools 9)
>From menu, select Edit > New > DWORD value
Type value name from above.
Change value data to 1 by double clicking name, or highlight name and
select Edit > Modify, then enter 1 in Value Data text box, and click OK.
Launch Application Designer, and start Upgrade Compare and Report process
as normal. When complete, there will be HTML, TXT, and/or CSV files in the
Report Output Directory for each object type ran. Application Designer
output window will also show name and location of where files were
generated. To open the HTML file, simply double click on the file name in
Windows Explorer to launch, or point browser to file name. To open text
files in Excel, use the normal File > Open menu, select the file, then use
the Text Import Wizard to specify tab or comma delimiters

I am not sure if this is the right group to pose this question, but someone
mentioned to me that PeopleSoft has an SQR that converts Upgrade Compare
Reports (.prt) into Excel spreadsheets. I looked in Customer Connection and
in the SQR Users Group, but found no such reference to this SQR.

Does anyone know if it even exists? If so, where can I get hold of it?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
