[sqr-users] writing dashboard exceptions from SQR
First of all thanks for the help I have been
getting on the list lately. While sometimes
I go a different road than suggested the
info is always clarifying.
-----
Brio Portal 7 / SQR 6.2 / Windows 2000
Our Brio Portal uses dashboard exceptions that are
based on an output file called output.properties,
written from the SQR. As far as I know this is
all working as of before I got here.
As I am developing the new system, I am doing an
overhaul on the old SQR. I want to be sure the
new exceptions still work.
Since all of the reports write the exceptions to
that same output.properties, it would seem to be
there could only one exception for each category
in the portal. That is contradicated by the
admin guide, which claims there can be one
dashboard exception for each report written.
I don't see anywhere in the portal tools that
allows me to establish where the exceptions
get their info. I am thinking maybe
output.properties is the file name Portal looks
for and that's that. This would contradict
the admin guide, yet again.
So, do I have to write to output.properties, or
can I pick a different name? How do I tell the
portal where to look?
If I can only write to output.properties, am I
stuck with publishing every single SQR into a
different category?
Andrew :)
