Sounds like you need to modify the TNSNAMES.ORA information to point to the new 
server. Depending on your operating system, this file can either be directly 
accessed in the source directory (e.g., c:/orant/net80/admin) or from Start -> 
Programs -> Oracle -> Oracle for Windows NT -> Net8 Assistant

Your system administrator should be able to provide assistance

Hi,

 

I'm a novice SQR programmer.I have a problem when I compile my .SQR programs
in Thinq Report Manager v1.2. 

When I load the SQR file & compile it gives the following error in the
report output

 

(SQR 5528) ORACLE ORLON error -12203 in cursor 0:

   ORA-12203: TNS:unable to connect to destination

(SQR 4701) Cannot logon to the database.

 

SQR: Program Aborting.

 

The reason it is not able to logon to the database is, the database server
has been changed to a new one.

What are the necessary changes should I make in the configuration files or
settings file to get rid of this database connectivity error ?

 

We are able to compile .SQR programs in another database which is not
changed. Help is appreciated on this and any other questions would be
answered.
