[sqr-users] Personal SQR license

I've had Personal SQR since 1989.

The last time I bought a Personal SQR license, I believe it was shortly 
after Brio had acquired SQR.  It did not appear on their standard price 
list.  I had to insist that whoever I was talking to consult the product 
manager, or someone who had come to Brio from MITI, and was eventually able 
to buy another license for, I think, $399.

Clients have had much less luck in Europe, where sales were done through 
other companies.

In fact, SQR Server is not an operational requirement.  If, like me, you 
are building SQR programs for your own clients who are not developers, 
Report Builder is not needed (or even desirable). And I'm so used to using 
a text editor I never bothered with Report Builder.

If this is important to you, and you are dealing directly with Brio, try to 
find someone else to talk to. An alternative is to go through a reseller 
like Ontko.com and see if they can't make it happen.
