SQR certainly does go way back with Oracle, Sybase,
and MS SQL Server, but it has a long-standing tradition
of working well with a wide variety of databases, including
DB2, Informix, Ingres, SQL Base, etc.
For the record, SQR was not written by Sybase. It is the
creation of Israel Stern and his SQ Software organization.
Early on it was marketed by D+N Systems, which later changed
its name to SQL Solutions, which was acquired by Sybase, which
also acquired SQ Software. Later, the rights to the Oracle
port were granted to MITI, and eventually the entire product
was purchased by MITI, which later became SQRIBE, which later
merged with Brio.
In any case, SQR supports MS SQL very nicely.
