[sqr-users] Mail Merge/Word/Form Letters

Hi,
 
Has anyone ever come up with an alternative to using Mail Merge / Word /
Form Letters ? The reason we are looking into this is that our users don't
have access to Word so we can't use the supplied SQRs then do a mail merge
to generate the Form Letters.
 
The way we were thinking of doing it, is to do a 'mail merge' from a text
file holding the letter template to generate a PDF.
 
Anyone else have any other ideas ?
