Date conversion problem when moving from SQR Version 3.0.7 to 4.3 .2

We are moving from SQR Version 3.0.7 to 4.3.2 and encountered the following
error while running some of our sqrs

(SQR 5528) INFORMIX SQL OPEN/EXECUTE error -1218 (ISAM: 0) in cursor 48:^M
   String to date conversion error^M


When we select from the database it is showing the date in YYYY/MM/DD
format.  In sqr
 (1) we select the same date, it displays in MM/DD/YYYY format.
 (2) next, we select from a different table and the date selected in (1) is
in WHERE clause as a variable.  Program aborts with the above error.


We will not be changing the programs, we need to change the environment.

Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
