Use a good text editor like Ultraedit which has a "Find in Files" options
which can be used to search a whole directory structure for a field name or
a phrase and spits out a report that lists occurrences within each SQR in
the directory along with line citations and the actual context. It is
extremely helpful.

Likewise, you can do a Find (CTRL-F) in Windows Explorer, and on the "Name &
Location" tab, you can type the fieldname in the "Containing text" box, and
select the Directory where you want to begin your search.

You could try this, running from DOS prompt:
find "specific_field" *.sqr | more

Subject: Searching for a field
Hi ya'll,
I am new to this group and want to have a good headstart in my new position
as a developer but at a very junior level.
How would you search for a specific field on all of the SQRs we have here?
If I want to find which SQR consists the specific field?
Thanks much!
