Not sure what you mean by "reset the command", but PCL does fine with a single
string like
encode '<27>&l0ll5hl3a' into $Printer-Init

lowercase L ------'
When it encounters an uppercase character, that ends the command string...

Andrew,
When encoding several PCL commands always make them as one contiguous
command because everytime it encounter <27> that means to reset
the command and you lose the previous command. Ex...
encode '<27>&l0L<27>&l5H<27>&l3A' into $Printer-Init
Your micr command works okay because I believed it was the last
command before the next page(or record).
