I havea cursor that is going thru 23,000 rows. Every 1000, it does a
'show' to tell me where it's at. When I run the program, the first or
second show will show up, and then nothing shows up until the program is done.
All I can conclude from this is that there must be some kind of buffer
that's holding the show output for some period of time. What I want to
know is whether we have any control over that buffer - though I expect the
answer is no.
I'd agree with a previous poster's comment that this applies to show and
print statements, because I've seen it with both. I don't like using
display because it's way too limiting, but I guess if I absolutely needed
to see stuff real time I could do that on a selected basis...
