You are right on a few things, but for the wrong reasons.  A doctor
won't teach you how to remove an appendix..not becuase it is taking
money away from him, but because it is dangerous.

SQR can be a dangerous thing in the wrong hands. You can cause serious
damage to your precious databases if you misplace an AND or use <=
when you really meant < or >=.

I 100% agree that 80-90% of "end users" have no more business writing
SQR's than we techies have establishing benefit  programs. But please
don't use greed as your motivation.
