DTS is a great tool - faster than all get-out as well. It is a bit
persnickety on reporting errors - sometimes I have had it stop with a
cryptic error message, and it turned out that I had run out of space in my
database or log file. (This was a 70,000,000+ record import). The only
trouble I had was with invoking a "canned" DTS script that I had used the
interactive tool (in SQL Server 7) to develop in a VB program - with the
program then dynamically changing it. Once I got it to work, it's been rock
solid ever since.

Stephen,
SQL Server 2000 comes with a tool that will do this for you. I believe it
is called DTS. From what I hear, it is awesome. It should make the
migration almost painless...
