Re: SQR

Hi Ben,

I run SQR from a UNIX command line all the time without problem. From your
error message it looks like it isn't finding your database in the
tnsnames.ora file (kept in $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin I think). Perhaps the
default $ORACLE_SID set up when you log on to your UNIX server is incorrect?

If you type password@database_name (where database_name is that defined in
your tnsnames) when it prompts for the password it should work ok whichever
method you use it run it from the command line.

Hope this hellps,

Jill

Hi SQRers,
Would some one out there tell me what is wrong with running SQR program at
the command line in Unix. Here is the problem:

Work: 'sqr program.sqr username/password' (work with username and password
are in the same line)

Does Not Work: 'sqr program.sqr' (system prompts for username and password).
Errors:
(SQR 5528) ORACLE ORLON error -12154 in cursor 0:
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name
(SQR 4701) Cannot logon to the database.

SQR: Program Aborting.

Thanks.
