Implicit Transactions on MSSQL
- Subject: Implicit Transactions on MSSQL

We have recently migrated our mainstream SQR system from v3(!) on Sun to
v6.0 (and now 6.1.4) on Windows NT/ODBC. We can see in the trace that every
SQR report issues a SET IMPLICIT TRANSACTION ON command before executing the
report code proper, and this is causing major blocking contention on the SQL
Servers (mostly MSSQL 6.5, some SQL7 and SQL2k). Reports that used to take a
few minutes are now sometimes taking hours. We use temporary tables quite a
lot, and this exacerbates the problem. The SQR files themselves have not
been changed.
I think I've seen this mentioned before, but has anyone found a solution.
I've tried the 6.20 beta, but it's just the same.
