Microsoft has not stopped supporting the 'Sybase' syntax for outer joins
using a *, but the preferred syntax is the ANSI OUTER JOIN clause, which is
supported on all versions since 6.5.

Hey David,
One was for an inner join, and the other was an outer join. For SQL server
I stopped using it because Microsoft was going to stop supporting the way of
joining tables. Do not know if they have stopped or not?
