The versions of SQR that PeopleSoft delivers are also available directly
from Brio; they are just "normal" versions of SQR. (However, Brio often
releases new versions of SQR faster than PeopleSoft will officially
support them, so sometimes PeopleSoft's versions can best be described
as "normal but a little outdated" :). )

If you are already familiar with SQR, you'll definitely be able to
understand PeopleSoft SQR programs without any additional classes.
On the other hand, PeopleSoft does have a whole "environment" built up
which you won't see in most non-PS SQR programs. For example,
* the mechanism for calling the SQR from the Process Scheduler
(and the implications this has for generating different output
types, etc.)
* the proper way to update the job status from your SQR so it shows
in the Process Scheduler
* all the functions made available in the SQCs
* to proper way to select from effective-dated tables
You may not need to attend a class just to learn about those, but you'll
at least want to spend a little time familiarizing yourself with these
sorts of topics.
