Check printing SQR (PAY003) problem

Hi group,
I have a problem that's a hybrid problem - it's either an SQR problem
(customized version of program PAY003) or a hardware/printer problem - this
has just started occurring with the printing of checks and specifically, the
check signature - we have a SIMM chip with our authorized signatures for
check printing, and a few days ago, when printing a range of checks, the
first check printed fine, but after that, what we got was a series of pages
with multiple signatures all over the place on the next page. My suspicions
on this have been that the printer may not be resetting correctly after the
signature font is printed, but I can't figure out why this has mysteriously
started occurring. Anyone else seen this before? Any ideas on correcting it?
Thanks in advance. By the way, we're running HRMS 7.5x, and the program we
modified to print our own signature is PAY003...
