Re: Exporting SQR into Microsoft Excel

There is a generic spreadsheet format called Symbolic Link (.slk or .sylk)
that you can find when you use the Excel SaveAs Dialog. It can hold
formatting, formulas and other neat stuff. It is stored as a text file,
therefore sqr can create it.

The .slk file format is hugely cryptic and learning would be daunting.
Luckily you don't have to learn this format to use it. Create a final
format in Excel, Save As .slk, reverse engineer to figure what part the sqr
needs to update.

To sum it up, .SLK would be useful where:
- the user takes a primadonna stance and requires a formatted spreadsheet
and won't help make it happen
- the spreadsheet format is not so variable that you have to learn .SLK

To learn more about this and other file formats, try http://www.wotsit.org
and search on SYLK.
