  Sorry, when I mentioned the format I should be using for the datetime
routine call, I should have said I think I need the statement to read like:
Format-DateTime($indate, $out, {DEFYMD},'','native'),

Not Format-DateTime($indate, $out, {DEFMDY},'','native')

Sorry about that...
