Re: Installing SQR and getting it to work in Oracle database and application on two databases

Lynne,
We are having the same problem once in a while with "memory fault (core
dump)" error. It is not consistency. We are on Oracle 81.6/Banner 4/HP-UX.
What I found out that Oracle 8.1.6 does not handle 'NULL' value very well
that why we are getting core dump when running SQR report. We had to apply
the 'NULL' fix to all Banner ProC applications in able to work with Oracle
8.1.6. Brio does not have the 'NULL' fix patch for Oracle 8.1.6 as I know
of. The core dump error is hard to diagnose the errors. If you are on Unix,
you can use 'strings' command to select the only text message out from the
'core' file to look for errors.
