Changing sub-heading and page overflow

Hi everyone,
I'm writing regarding a question about generating variable sub-headings in
a Peoplesoft environment, running SQR Version 4.3.4. Here's my question: I
have a report I'm writing that is similar to Peoplesoft's Payroll Summary
report - a report that will have a standard main heading but a different
sub-heading (the report will have 4 sections - one summarizing overall pay,
the next deductions, then taxes.) Here's the problem: when I create the
sub-headings within each procedure, I run into a page overflow problem - the
main heading prints just fine at the page break, but the sub-headings don't.
I tried making the sub-headings print from variables, where I would populate
the value of the headings that print in the "begin-heading" procedure, and
that works fine for the first sub-heading, but I can't change that
sub-heading value." Before I ramble here, do any of you have any suggestions
on creating variable sub-headings? I could use the age-old technique of
keeping track of a line counter and when the page size is exceeded, generate
a "new-page" command, followed by a printing of the sub-headings, but I'm
not sure if that is the best approach. I welcome your feedback. By the way,
I get messages in digest mode, so if you wouldn't mind "cc'ing" your
response to me directly, that would enable me to read the reply today.
Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Glenn Ackerson
