Yes this is very much possible. I have done this to a client
who have AS400 DB2 and Oracle(backend) as you may call it. You
can do this via 2-tier only.

1. In your PC make sure you have client access installed with
   service pack SF59923 or below.
2. You must have client access ODBC driver.
3. Install Oracle client including the Oracle ODBC driver.
4. Configure your AS400 and Oracle database DSN using
   the ODBC administration utility.
