You mean you have 2 sqrs that will print separate checks in separate
trays? Like paychecks in tray 2 and GL checks in tray 3? As long as
both trays has different paper sizes then its okay (you can use
PCL escape sequences to do this). However, what will happen if you have same
paper size and tray 2 runs out of paper? Of course the printer will check
tray 3 if there is available paper.....then you
know what will happen..
We have avoided this kind of setup specially when printing checks. It
is very messy. We have different printers dedicated to print checks
and advices and not having any problems at all. As for GL checks,
we have them allocate certain time to print their checks, setup
the printer for the correct stocks and make sure that when they
finished their jobs, that they return the printer settings as
before.
note: we are now using an OCE printer in which we can assign which
trays to use. This way it will only use whatever trays you
designate. This printer is also capable of having passwords
for every jobs and very fast (50 checks per minutes).
