Doh! Thanks very much - exactly what I wanted (you might expect that
Brio.Report or the SPF Viewer would link to this, or at least reference it
in the Help...). But then, User Friendly is not a term that springs to
mind.

Is there a way to convert an existing SPF file to another format, in
particular, to a .LIS text format? It seems that unless you specify the
output format(s) you want at execution time, you cannot generate any of the
others, yet SPF is supposed to contain a complete definition of the output.
Or have I missed something fundamental?
