Line breaks in a comments (long) field

Hi all,

A coworker needs to read a 2000 character field from a flat file and insert
it into a long field.  Easy enough except (problem problem) our customers
want to have breaks at the end of sentences.

So, as an example, instead of seeing this in the comments field on a
PeopleSoft panel:
"This is the first line.  This is the second line."
Our customers want to see:
"This is the first line.
This is the second line."

Is it possible to do this?  Perhaps using an ascii code?

I know if you go into a panel and press the "Enter" key at the end of
sentences, the cursor will move down a line.
 How do you create those breaks?
