Re: workaround for NOWAIT on unix
Maybe this would work:
Your SQR initiates a UNIX shell script, passing it a parameter of what you want
to process. The UNIX shell script, in turn, will execute the process with the
NOWAIT option. In other words, your SQR doesn't actually build the script, in
only calls an existing script, passing it the necessary parameters.

Subject: workaround for NOWAIT on unix
We have written several sqr programs that, collectively, will act as a
request scheduler. Now that I'm testing the results, I've discovered that I
can't use "NOWAIT" with the call system command.
Is there another way to accomplish this? I want to process requests as they
come in. I don't want to wait each one finishes before starting the next.
Thanks for your help!

P.S.We are using SQR 4.2.3 on a UNIX box accessing Sybase databases.
