SQR under Windows 2000

we are a site running SQR3 (16 bit ver) on Windows 2000 Workstations.
we are calling it to run reports from an variuous Oracle forms eg:
HOST ('sqrw.exe '||g_sqr_string||' -oc:\temp\sqr.log -c');

Oracle calls SQR3 ok and runs teh report but when we close SQR3 it freezes the 
Oracle form that origionally called SQR3.
How do we prevent this from happening?
