SQR - causing SQRW.exe compiler to hang

I have a fairly large and complex SQR which is run on the client via
sqrw.exe.   Due to other technical issues this SQR cannot run on the server.

When I attempt to run the sqr I get the SQR V4.3.4 icon but no SQRW.exe
icon.  It's as if the sqrw.exe is not executed.  SQR V4.3.4 icon will stay
in Windows until I "end-task" it via Windows.  Other SQRs are running
properly.

I believe I have narrowed it down to a select statement using a dblink.

Has anyone else encountered anything like this???
