So, you are confirming that the .spf file is indeed an intermediate, or
temporary .lis file. What if you DO want to create list output? You
wouldn't want to use the -nolis option, correct? Sorry, I'm at home
right now, and I don't have my SQR manual.

I'm not sure what you mean with "since that is the last thing that
happens". If you're writing output from within your unintended loop, where
is it going? it's got to be taking up disk space somewhere.

Maybe you're saying to use the -nolis option during debugging.. so you
don't generate a huge .spf file from an unintended loop.

My concern was not so much with the loop, but another SQR that did not
loop, but still generated a large .spf file.. we just don't know what an
.spf file is

Thanks for your help.

the -nolis option will be appended in your process definition or it will be
specified on the sqr flags line in the process scheduler tab in
configuration manager.

if it goes into a loop, you won't get an spf file since that is the last
thing that happens. the -nolis command is one of the last operations that
occurs in the process.

Can someone tell me how .spf files get created?

One SQR went into an infinite loop, and the .spf file seemed to be a
temporary .lis file.

However, another SQR did not go into a loop, and it still generate a large
.spf file.

Anyone know?? Thanks...
