The SQRLauncher (previously called SQR Runner) was created as a tool that
can expedite the process of
running multiple SQRW's by reducing the amount of data that you have to type
in each time you want to run a particular SQR. It will maintain the name of
the several of the last SQRW's that you have run as user preferences in the
OS Registry. It will also query your ODBC settings to allow you to select
ODBC entries to run SQRW against.
One of SQRLauncher nicest features is it's compatibility with PeopleSoft's Configuration Manager. SQRLauncher can query the system registry to allow you to change your SQRW's flags at the click of a button. This is very handy when running SQRW's against more than one database (HRMS, Financials, etc...) or pulling SQR/SQC files from more than one directory.
Another feature of SQRLauncher is its ability to place Date-Time, Date or Time stamps on LOG and LIS files that have been generated by SQRW. This is particularly handy when upgrading Software packages such as PeopleSoft where you need to run dozens of SQRW's. Sometimes you want to have an immediate visual reference of when the file was run and don't want to overwrite the old files or sometimes you may want to run through a dozen SQRW's and you want to compare the output with the previous run and don't want to change directories. SQRLauncher makes it all possible.
The price of SQRLauncher is only $10.00 US per user and it is also available as a Value-Added product to firms that would like to place their logo on the user screen. The Value-Added SQRLauncher can distribute to your clients without additional charge beyond the agreed upon Value-Added licensing fee and they will always know who gave it to them and who to call when they need assistance.
This fee is only to cover my costs of keeping current with the latest versions of Visual Basic and any books that I need help me add extra usability features. I don't plan to get monetarily rich from this product only rich with new contacts and friends that I meet along the way.
SQRLauncher is growing all the time and with your input we can have an application that meets most all of our requirements while making our jobs a little easier.
Thanks and let me know what you think.
